Beginner’s Guide to Sand Beach in Acadia National Park

Stops on the Park Loop Road, Acadia National Park

Sand Beach is a really nice point to stop and look around. You can access a few hiking trails from this parking lot and parking area. We recommend getting here early, parking your car,  hiking a few trails, then having a picnic on the beach! If you are doing the Park Loop Road, it’s a great pit stop on your journey. You can also walk here from the Thunder Hole Parking lot, if you take the Ocean Path.

Relaxtion on Sand Beach

Take a blanket and relax on Sand Beach!

We love a waterproof blanket for relaxing on Sand Beach after a nice hike. Or bonus, DD has a backpack that is also a cooler so you can hike your lunch in! It’s a very cool thing to eat your lunch on a cliff overlooking the ocean. We recommend you do it at least once.

Enjoy Sand Beach! Share your photos with us – #LoveMaineAdventures!
