Side Street Cafe – Best places to eat in Bar Harbor

Side Street Cafe is our ride our die. They are open all season, with the exception of some closures around the holidays, and during the Spring. The staff is warm and friendly, and the food is spectacular. The menu offers anything from local seafood fare, to salads, pub food, and some dinner options pretty close to fine dining! And the Margarita of the Moment….need we say more?

Getting There

Side Street Cafe is located – wait, you guessed it – on a side street! It’s strategically located right next to a parking lot as well.

What to Try

The Margarita of the Moment and french fries. OMG. The crab cakes and the tacos are also favorites. But you really won’t go wrong with anything on the menu at Side Street Cafe! Bonus, Happy Hour every day from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. We recently discovered this and we were thrilled. There are food and drink specials. Bonus, if you’ve got a gluten insensitivity or live a gluten-free lifestyle, you can order many things on the menu. The crab cakes are gluten free. YOU CAN EVEN ORDER FRENCH FRIES. They don’t fry anything that would cross-contaminate in the fryers. I love this. SO. MUCH.
